MARK is driven by our ethical design values and by the company’s Cornish roots.
There are four principles to this: Design for sustainability, design for durability, local manufacture and responsible sourcing. We follow these because there are real benefits to us and our customers – it’s not just for emotional reasons.
Sourcing locally enables us to be very fast in developing new designs and managing their quality. We don’t have massive transport costs to pass on in our prices. We can also be very responsive to our customers – for contract customers we are often able to customise a product to suit the demands of a particular interior concept.
We select renewable and recyclable materials wherever possible and are investing in skills for the future.
80% of our manufacturing is in Cornwall, with the remainder in the UK.
A detailed account of how we implement our sustainable approach is available in our sustainability statement.
