Sustainability
MARK is driven by our ethical design values and by the company’s Cornish roots. There are three elements to this – materials, manufacturing and longevity. We select renewable and recyclable materials wherever possible and are driving sustainable innovation in areas such as plastics.
80% of our manufacturing is in Cornwall, with the remainder in the UK. This policy of local sourcing reduces manufacturing miles, sustains and develops local craft skills, and benefits the customer though a more responsive service.
Finally, we intend all our products to have a long life; we aim for timelessness in design, robustness in manufacture, and for products that will either improve with age or may be refurbished and renewed - the opposite of built-in obsolescence.
