24 August 2022
We are delighted to be taking part in this year’s Clerkenwell Open with in-person Table Talks hosted by MARK Co-Founder and Designer John Miller and a Panel Discussion that will welcome Alys Bryan (Design Insider), Kirsty Angerer (Leesman) and Helen Berresford (ID:SR) to the showroom.
Table Talks will be an opportunity to engage in learning about topics relevant to architects and designers in the specification of furniture. The talks will be led by John who is uniquely placed to share his insights as a designer, co-founder of MARK Product and previously Head of Design at Falmouth University.
Table Talk topics will include:
(01) 14.00: Material choices and sustainability (40 mins including Q&A)
Understanding your material options from appearance, performance and sustainability. Timber vs laminate, leather vs fabrics, metal and plastic choices.
(02) 15.00: Greenwash in the furniture industry (40 mins including Q&A)
Learn how to understand information that is critical to unpicking the truth from the fantasy claims about recycling, net zero and circularity.
(03) 16.30: Panel Discussion (60 mins including Q&A)
How furniture influences behaviour and wellbeing in the workplace.
Our panel discussion chaired by Alys Bryan will explore the role furniture plays in how we interact with and use space. The discussion will consider how products and spaces can be designed to contribute to wellbeing, productivity and collaboration.
17.30-19.30 Closing drinks on the terrace
We will wrap up the two days of talks on our rooftop terrace with delicious drinks fresh from Cornwall thanks to Curio gin and a non-alcoholic option of Pentire coastal botanicals.
